Theater & Character Education
During this week-long residency Cornerstone’s Trainers use creative dramatics to address some of the callenging issues facing children today such as; friendship, peer pressure, teasing & bullying, respect & tolerance and so much more.
Theater and improvisational storytelling are fundamental forms of human expression that build character, instill confidence and create a sense of community. Involvement in theater awakens in children a love for language and at the same time it promotes physical, emotional, and intellectual self-awareness. It can unlock hidden talents and inspire students to achieve. This unique theater residency combines character education with acting exercises to provide a deeper and more meaningful learning experience.
Working as a team, designated classrooms then develop skits that promote positive choice-making. The week culminates in an assembly program -STARRING YOUR OWN STUDENTS- presented for their fellow students, friends and family!

Grades K-8 enjoy workshops conducted by Cornerstone throughout the week that focus on developing acting skills and building character. Students participate in experiential activities which enhance communication skills, build self-esteem, and promote a sense of cooperation and community in the classroom.
