Joey and Mikey
Twin Brothers-Two Journeys

You become the sum total of every choice you make and every action you take. Joe and Mike were twins - fraternal twins, which means that they were not identical, but twins nonetheless. They had the same mom, the same dad, the same brothers and sisters, the same teachers, the same friends, the same everything... until they started to make some very different choices.

Joey’s choices led him down a path of drug use and destruction. Mikey’s led him towards a future that included a LIFE. Joey’s yourney ended in a small cemetary in Western Wisconsin where he will never do the things every kid would like to do; play computer games, own a car, spend time with friends, watch movies, eat pizza, date, go to a football game, attend college, meet a wonderful person to spend their life with, get a great job, maybe have kids!

Here are a few pictures of Joey and Mikey... we know you’re very curious about them after you attend the assembly.

Thanks for caring, and remember YOU
ARE WHAT YOU DO!!

Joe and Mike
Joe is on his Mom’s lap/Mike is on his Dad’s lap

Joe and Mike were from a very big family with 12 kids. In this picture there are only 8 children so far, there would be 4 more born after this picture was taken. It was a pretty normal family. They weren’t rich, but they weren’t poor either. They didn’t live in a drug infested neighborhood, they lived in a big house in a quiet Catholic community were there were over 200 kids living with their mom’s and dads within a 2 block radius.

Joey and Mikey with their Dad

Joey and Mikey were wild and rambunctious. They were always on the run - having fun, vexing their mom, and terrorizing their sisters. Just like normal kids! Their mom and dad loved them very much.

Joey at his Sister’s Wedding

Joey was living in the mental hospital when this picture was taken. He was allowed out for a few hours to attend his sister, Mary’s wedding. At this point in time Joey had to be medicated. HIs drug use had caused him to develop a mental illness and he was a danger to himself and to others. He needed to be watched very closely so he wouldn’t hurt himself or someone else.
